Eh......

I thought I would have lots to say after not blogging for so long, but now I feel like I don't. Let me think...

So I went away for my long weekend, and had a good time. Went to several yarn shops-which was awesome. If I got lonely, I just logged on to my computer and connected with people. Gotta love technology. And it was a nice weekend away. Uneventful. I don't know what else to say. I shopped, and I knitted and I relaxed. It was nice.

Then, last weekend I went to MDSW. Had a great time with great friends, and shopped like they were going to stop selling yarn. Spent loads of money. But I got what I wanted, and didn't come come regretful of anything I hadn't bought. To me-that's a good trip. You don't want to be thinking of that yarn you should have bought but talked youself out of at the time. We took a class-which was just awesome. My first knitting class! And it rocked! I'm glad I had a good experience because it makes me excited to take another class down the road.

I've been just knitting away....I knitted a pair of Hemp socks-and if you are considering it-well, first of all, you clearly do not know me personally. Nor do you know what I went through knitting them. Just do yourself a favor a back away from that ledge. Ok? Ok.

And I finished a purse sock-which is a plain vanilla sock that I carry in my purse for time emergancies. Crap-you have to wait for that perscription you thought would be ready-Ah hah! You are prepared with the purse sock! Yay! You see? Purse sock. Well, I finished the pair, actually. And I cast on another-again, purse socks. Can't go wrong.

And I've got the Universal Tunic on the needles, and the Readers Wrap. And that stupid scarf that's bugging me for some reason. I hate that I have something on the needles that I never work on. I don't even want to work on it-which is the worst part. So frustrating because the yarn is sooo yummy and I want to use it, dang it! But I can't think of another project for it.

So that's what's on the needles. Oh! I also finished the blue sweater-which has it's problems, and the Marinas sweater from Webs, which I have to say, is my first turned-out-great-I-actually-wear-it sweater. So that's awesome. And just in time for the humid Lancaster County summer! But, really, I love it and I can't wait to wear it again. You never know-we get some cool nights here even in the summer.

And I think that's it. For now. Gosh-I have got to blog more. This whole Ravelry thing just sucks up my time-and I love it. Addiction at it's greatest. :)

Happy Knitting!

Life can just pass you by........

I like to think I'm one of those people that takes an opportunity when it presents itself. In reality-I just do what I want. I have made plans to go away for a long weekend by myself. I've done this before-for a longer time, and further away. It doesn't scare me. I don't fear being lonely. The best way I can sum it up is this: It is what it is. I have time off of work. My friends and family cannot go with me. That leaves me with two choices-I could sit at home, or I can go away by myself. Some people would love this. Alone for a whole weekend! But the reason I'm going is not to be by myself-but to go away. Why should I let the fact that I'm single (and everyone I know-isn't) keep me from doing what I want to do?

I do not need to justify my vacation-and trust me, no one in my life thinks I'm crazy. But I think some people wouldn't understand, or would say "Oh, I could never do that". You'd be suprised how independent you become when forced to do so. I've been single for a long time(we won't go into the whole "why's" thing) and you just adapt. It sounds so stupid to say it-but that's what you do. Or at least what I have done. No one to go shopping with? No problem-I'll go by myself. You get used to it. And it gives you an opportunity to discover who you are. And when your choices aren't influenced by someone else-you feel freedom.

Take this long weekend. I can go anywhere I want. I have booked an expensive Bed & Breakfast. These are my choices because I don't have to check with anyone, or budget in the price, or worry that it's not good for kids, or a husband or whatever. I get to do what I want to do.

Being single may be lonely sometimes, but it has it's advantages too.

And so I am going away......I will stop at yarn shops along the way, and while I'm at my destination, and eat out for dinner, do some sightseeing, and knit. Because to me-that's a great vacation. And did I also mention? Because I can.

Happy Knitting!

Happy Winter?

Lord I hate winter. I didn't used to. I used to love winter-no sweating like in the summer! I used to love being a little chilly. But you lose a layer of insulation (or 'fat'), and the winter becomes horrible. I'm cold. all. the. time. except in a hot shower, or in bed. And it's making me want to not get out of bed. For anything. At all. But I do-because it's just not right to hibernate.

I went to Lititz tonight, where Aaron's Books had their Knit & Needle night. It was super fun! I wasn't planning on going, simply because I didn't have time. But-I went with wet hair, skipped half my walking, have no lunch food for tomorrow, need to get gas, am in need of a shower, and I'm going out again tomorrow! No-I didn't have time to go out tonight. But the only way to get rid of the winter blues is to get the hell out of the house. And come hell or whatever-I was going to get out tonight. And I did, and it was fun! I'm super glad I went!

Now that Christmas knitting is over, I've been working on the Irish Hiking Scarf (Picture soon!), and the blue hoodie sweater, which is taking forever cause I just want it to be done. Ann's got my yarn for the next sweater, and I promised myself I can't start it until I finish this one!

The new work place is going good. I fit right in with that crowd! :) No-really-it's a great group of people, and the work is interesting enough to make the day fly. And I made an email friend there, so I have someone to talk to. I kind of sit by myself. In order to talk to anyone, someone has to come over to me, or I have to get up and go to where they are. I don't mind, but I always worry about the boss thinking I'm not working. Probably from past experience working at the crappy place a few years ago.

I think I might go for some retail therapy this weekend at the mall to chase away my winter blues. I really need a new pair of walking shoes, and maybe some new clothes would be nice too. I really hate shopping for clothes, but it's starting to get fun again. ;) Nice to get into that smaller size!

So I'm going to head off to bed-I have to make sure I start making up for the lost treadmill time. I fully intend to add on the milage I didn't do today. The only thing that sucks is the treadmill is in the cold basement. Good in the summer-horrible in the winter. But it must be done, so it is what it is.

Happy Knitting.

P.S. Boys fucking suck. I'm just sayin'.

Oh, the Holidays......

Fetching

So the Holidays.......well. So maybe I started a fight on Christmas day, and that was only the beginning! My cousin's got this still-married-to-someone-else fiance. Do not care for him. He's smarmy. For real.

So I mention my concerns to her, cause we're close, and either she told him what I said (which makes her an idiot), or he overheard (which is impossible-clearly she's just an idiot). Either way however he must have reacted upset her to the point of tears, and they left. Now-it is important to restate that *I* wasn't the one that upset her-his reaction is what upset her. Now this only goes to prove my point that he's an asshole. I'm just sayin'.

So then my other cousin, Todd, was making comments all last night about the fiance. And ok-it was funny. They were there briefly, but left because they were have a New Year's Eve/Engagement part at their house. To which none of the family was invited. (Which Todd commented on-again, funny.) Even if we had been invited-they picked the one day that they knew everyone in the family would not be able to attend. There is just something about this guy. We do not like him.

But it's her life and blah blah blah or whatever......you know mental abuse often turns physical. Just FYI. I put my .02 in, and that's all I can do. I just worry about her.

What else happened? My cousins that have chitlins bailed before midnight. Which left me and Todd as the only cousins there to ring in the New Year. My brother was at home in bed. Clearly he leads the exciting life.

I'm sure I should be going on and on about the New Year, and a new start to some things, and hopes for 2008. But I kind of think resolutions are bullshit. You want to do something? Why wait until the New Year? Do it 'today'. (I know it's New Year's Day-ya'll know what I mean. Honestly.)

I just don't get this whole 'Oh, this the year I'm gonna do this' or 'this is the year I'm gonna quit that'. If ya really wanted to do it-you'd have done it by now. People need to get their heads out of their asses and face reality. I'm just sayin'.

I do believe in goals though. Like planning to learn a new hobby by this time next year, or get something accomplished by this time next year. You could do this type of planning anytime of the year. I'm talking in circles-I know.

My point is that people either want to lose weight, or quit something. (spending money, smoking, drinking, lace work-whatever). I just don't understand why they have to make the new year the starting point. You know what people who make resolutions like that do? The whole week before New Year's they like freak out and binge eat, or chain smoke, or whatever. Then, 3 weeks later, when they fail, it's a much bigger deal because of that all important starting date. And they just forget all about their resolutions until the next year, when the cycle starts all over again.

Whew-let me get off my soapbox here and settle down a little.

Today went really fast, and work tomorrow is probably going to go slow. It's going to be that kind of week. Ah well....

The holidays are over, and overall they were .....interesting. I guess. I ate too much, made an enemy of someone who will likely join the family, and just survived it. We really need to start drinking at these things. Honestly. Maybe my father's family has the right idea. We get there at 11 or 12 on Christmas Eve, and they are already into their cups. Might be the way to go...(Just kidding-ya'll know I rarely drink!)

So Happy New Year!!! I wish you all the best in the year to come. If you make resolutions, I truly wish you good luck, and if you make goals, I hope you accomplish them. Me? I'm gonna look to the future with a smile, live in the present as much as I can, and try to learn from the past.

Mom's going to make cookies, and I'm going to stay in and knit. I only have one sock to go, so it's looking good! I am happy to report that all dishcloths are done!

Yesterday I spent the entire day wrapping-and I only have one thing left, which I have to find a box for.

It's that time of year.......busy busy.

Sunday Knitting

Yeah.....I was gonna take a picture of the hat I made my brother for Christmas, but I just don't have the time. I am on my last dishcloth, and I have a sock and a half to go. Fast knitters laugh at this. 'Two weeks until Christmas-plenty of time!,' they may claim. But I am not a fast knitter. I do not have years and years of experience in the knitting world. This is my first knitted Christmas. And I will be done-I will make sure of it.

As I cast on my last dishcloth, I thought about the 35 I had already made. It is a lot. And likely-other then Mom-that the recipients will not apprieciate all my work. I wondered if that bothered me. And then I thought about how much I love to knit. And the fact that each dishcloth took very little of my time. Most of them were done through spring and fall. This was the time that I truly feel in love with knitting. And these dishcloths were very much a part of that time. The represent my education in knitting. The new stitches I learned, patterns I would otherwise not have tried (even some lace!), and some serious weaving in of the ends-which I feel I've gotten better at.

So at the end of the day-I am giving Christmas presents that may never get fully appreciated, but at the very least-they are important to me. And although it may never be realized-it's a gift from the hands AND the heart.

In other news-I am happy to report that all my Christmas shopping is done!!! (Happy dance!!) And I already have next Saturday reserved for wrapping. Cause it's gonna take a whole day. Good thing I love to do it!

While I was out yesterday, I found an inexpensive coffee for one maker, which Wen had suggested. Thanks Wen! I make a nice cup of coffee this morning, and it was lovely with this weather.

Weather in this area is...well...a little wierd at times. We had a very warm, summer-like fall. October was record high. Then it got cold. Quick. And today, it's cold with rain, but not freezing rain. I think. We are close enough east that our weather isn't horrible, but we are often on "the line". That area where it could be raining on one side of the street, and snowing on the other. I live on the snowy side. They call it "north of the turnpike". And it's true! We live MAYBE a half mile north of the turnpike, and we always get more snow and colder temps. It's, well, wierd.

So anyway-my thoguhts are with the people in the midwest who are getting an ice storm. It's looking bad out there. And of course I'm weather channeling it today as I knit.

And a very special welcome to Julianne Marie. A future knitter I'm sure. She made sure to make her appearence on a Thursday night-a sure sign that she didn't want to miss SnB! Congrats Ann!

I am going to throw on some Christmas music and go to town with the knitting. I've spent the day knitting already, and watching the Weather Channel, and daydreaming about what I'm going to knit once Christmas knitting is done!

Happy Knitting!

Ya Know......

So I went to this yarn store yesterday, which I will not name, and it was one of THOSE places. I was stalked by a women who had her arms crossed (an employee). It was not a big place. At all. I guess I looked shady. I don't know. There were other customers in the store. I was not greeted, just watched. Closely. And really, this women, who was not the owner, didn't really stop watching me until other customers drew her attention away. I hate when I go into places like that. I fully understand that there are people who steal things. I get that. But giving people the benefit of the doubt seems to have gotten lost in the 50's.

Anyway, given that I was stalked, would that fact alone make me not go back? No, probably not. The reason I will probably not go back is because of the yarn selection. Granted, there was Encore, and Noro, which you can get at just about any yarn store, but most of the yarn there was ribbon yarn. To each their own, but I'm probably not going to shop in a yarn store that has mostly novelty yarns. They did have some sock yarn that was dyed by a local women, and I bought a hank of that. I also got some of those diaper pin type stitch markers, and a couple of small project bags(also made by the local woman-nice fabric ones, very inexpensive).

But unless I need something that I had only seen there, I don't think I'll be going back.

The experience I had at this store made me think of the local yarn stores in this area, and which ones really stand out to me. The yarn store closest to me(about 5 min drive) is nothing special, but a good place to buy sock yarn, as that seems to be what she is most interested in. They also have the usual felting yarns, and if I didn't feel like going far, and needed Lamb's Pride, or Galway, or Encore, I would go pick some up there.

There is another store about 10-15 minutes from me, in West Reading, that I enjoy for their sale rooms. If I'm on a budget, I'll go there. The majority of the yarn I liked there seemed to be 100% wool. Lovely-but hand wash only, and therfore not a preferred yarn(by me).

However, my favorite yarn shop is about 25 minutes from me, and they have a wide range of diffrent yarns. The usual Lamb's Pride and Encore, and stuff, but also the yarns that I prefer that I haven't seen locally. Like Cascade 220 ( regular AND superwash), a bunch of diffrent Berroco yarns, Lopi, etc. And the best thing about this shop is that she just started a frequent buyer program where you earn points to have a certain percent off a future purchase. Now, a yarn store that does that AND has a lot of good yarns is one I'm going the visit often.

I guess it comes down to individual taste at the end of the day. What do YOU look for in a yarn shop? I must say that when I'm stalked, I don't feel like I've enjoyed my yarn shop experience. I don't feel like I've been allowed to peruse at my leisure. I feel pressured. Like I have to buy something to prove I didn't steal anything. When I rang out, I made a point of saying I didn't need the tissue paper at the bottom of the bags, and made a show of pulling it all out to prove that I wasn't hiding anything in the bag. I shouldn't have to feel like that.

So that was my yesterday. Today I'm up to my ass with the Christmas knitting. I have 3 and 1/2 dishcloths to go!! I've made a deal with myself that if I finish the one I'm working on, I can work on fetching for 2 hours. And then I won't start the December cloths until it actually IS December. A short break from them will be nice. Plus, I have a hat to finish, and a pair of socks that are barely started. And that's only the knitting-I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. Sigh......where does the time go?

Happy Knitting!!!

So life has been good-just busy. New job and all....training. Yeah. But it's good.

And the Christmas knitting. Oh my word, the Christmas knitting! 6 and a half dishcloths to go!! And I'm more then half donr my brother's hat. Then it will be a mad dash with Mom's socks. If I can go into December with only 3 dishcloths and the socks to finish, I'll be grinnin'.

Meanwhile, I had a baby shower to go to today(hopefully the last for a while-us non-breeders get really tired of these things.). I didn't want to take any of the Christmas gifts, so I started Fetching in Jasper. My first experience in cables, and I chose a project that is knit in the round. Clearly I have issues. But I must say they are looking good. I love love love the yarn-it is so yummy!! And really-the patterns is not hard.

But I'm home now, so it's back to dishcloths until Thanksgiving day, when I'll be back to working on the wrist warmers. I'll need them-well, I was going to say soon, but it's more like now. When we arrived home today, it was snowing and there was a dusting already on the ground.

Anywho-this is not getting the dishcloths done. Better go!

Happy Knitting!!!

Yup......

So, I thought I would have loads to say, and maybe I do-but my mind has gone blank. I feel sad today. It was the end of something I hadn't realized I cared so much about. I don't often form attachments-one of those survival things I guess. Everything changes-it's the only thing you can count on. And this time in my life seems to once again prove that. So forming attachments means being sad at some point. And now is that point. I am sad.

I really, really thought I would be ok. I had only worked there a year and a half. And this morning was ok-got some ballons, a card, and a gift, had baked goods(made especially for me!), lunch was bought for me.......it was awesome. And somewhere in the middle of it I realized that not only did these people truly care about me, but I care very much about them, and not seeing them everyday was going to break my heart. And I got sad. And I am still sad. The only thing preventing me from have an actual breakdown is the knowledge that after next Friday-that entire situation will not exist. After the merger-everyone will scatter. Everyone. I was just one of the first to go. Next week, everyone goes.

It sooths my heart to know that. It makes me a little less sad. I didn't leave them-I didn't have a choice. No one did. And at the end of the day, they are happy for me. The balloons didn't say 'We'll Miss you" or "Good Luck". No-my friends got me balloons that say "Congratulations". They are excited for me, and that makes me appriciate them even more.

I already miss them.

Change

I know this is more of an end-of-year topic, but my birthday is on Thursday, and every year around the time of my birthday, I reflect back. What has happened in the last year that may have changed who I am, or where my place is in this world? For too many years, I was in the same place as I had been the year before. And the last time I felt this way-I was determined that the next year would be diffrent. And it was. I was in a bad situation at work that I allowed to rule my life. I had a boss that manipulated me, and my job ruled who I was. Over the course of six years, I had turned into someone I am still trying to shake off. I was/am leery of people, and what they want from me. What are they planning for me behind my back? What is being said when I leave the room? How can I counter-attack when they make their move?
I never let anyone get close to me. I have problems trusting that people's intentions are true and honest. And I care only for myself too much of the time.
These are things that I had to develop in order to survive my everyday life. But a year and a half ago, the very simplest, stupidest thing became the straw that broke the camel's back.

They wanted me to wear a uniform to work.

That's what made me change my life. Clothes. The day I found out that we would be put into uniforms, I made a comment to a life-long friend, and my life was changed forever. I inquired as to a position where her sister worked. There were positions available, and I got one, and I left that place forever. When I found out in May that my job may be 'impacted', my biggest fear was that I would end up back at the place I had just left. I know that they would take me back, and I didn't burn the bridge when I left. But my fear of never breaking out of the survival-mode I am still stightly stuck in is intense. I don't want to go back there. Ever.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Last year on my birthday, I took the day off and treated myself to a mini shopping spree. YAY! And at the time, I was in hardcore weight loss mode. I was at a crucial time with the losing. I was at a weight that I had reached before, but hadn't been able to go below. This was the weight I always reached just before I quit. But last year-I didn't quit. I continued to lose. And that is probably the first indication that this year-my 28th-would be different.

So New Year's came along. And I'm not big on the whole resolution thing-but I had a goal. Around the holidays-I started feeling lonely. I was feeling good, and my energy was up. I wanted to go places, but had nowhere to go. So I decided that my goal of 2007 was going to be to find a hobby. Not just any hobby-but one that got me out of the house at least once a week, and had people my age, and something that I just loved to death. What would it be, I wondered. Weeks I thought about what I enjoy doing. Cards? Sure-but in this area, I'd be the youngest by at least 50 years. No, I thought, not cards. What else do I like doing. Crochet? Yeah, that's ok, but I've done alot of blankets, and I cannot find anything else I want to crochet.

And then one night-I still remember that exact moment-I was outside with the dog, still pondering, and it just popped into my head.

Knitting!

Of course. I had enjoyed it, and I know there is an SnB in Lancaster. Yes! I hurried inside and pulled out the sweater in progress that had been hiding in the back of my closet. My needles started clicking away that night, and haven't stopped since!
I started attending SnB, and made great friends-some of them have become close friends.

But most important-I had finally found my thing. I love knitting. I truly do. Right now, as I type this, I'm thinking I'd rather be knitting!

So I had found it, and life was going great. And then May happened. And we knew we had to wait until August to find out any news. I'm sure you're thinking that it had to be a long summer waiting, and maybe you're right. For my co-workers. For myself, I have a back burner that I can tune out. Ididn't worry at all. In fact-I didn't even think about it unless someone else brought it up. I just put the whole thing to the back of my mind, and didn't worry. Why worry? It wasn't going to change anything. It wasn't going to make August come any faster. We had to wait. That's all there is to it.

And then August arrived. And the worrying did start. And so did the rumors. And then it was August 16th, The Day. And I got my blue folder, just like everyone else in the building. And now the REAL worrying began. What if I couldn't find anything and I had to go back to my old job? I knew they would take me back. I knew that that place was my back-up, and it scared the crap out of me. but somewhere around the beginning of September it occured to me that I didn't have to go back. There are jobs out there, and I am a good worker and an honest person. I would find something. And I did.

But it wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't my old job, and that was good, but going back to my old job had become an impossibility in my mind by then, so I had moved on to what I wanted. The new job was farther from home, for the same amount of money, and would probably only last a year or two. So I found another job. I start in a week and a half, and it's closer to home, and more money. The people seem nice, and it's a big company that is expanding the facility. It seems as secure as it can in today's economy. I worry that my boss might be an a-hole, but it's too early judge, and his office is on a diffrent floor. Worring about it seems premature at this point. I'm going to hope for the best. Afterall, you can't tell alot about a person from just being around them for one hour.

So this catches us up. Yesterday, I won some money on a radio station. And I am very grateful because Christmas is coming in less then two months, AND I have to buy a new wardrobe for the new job. So the money is very much needed.

Call it my survival-mode thing, but now I'm in worry mode. Things are going very well, but what bad thing is around the corner? Is something bad going to happen to even out the good stuff coming my way? Paranoid? Yeah-a little. :)

So that's been my year of change. This past year has brought more change in my life then any I can recall.

Ahhh......forgot to touch on the personal life thing. I am still alone. And I cannot for the life of me figure out why. I used to think it was because I was fat. Guys don't like fat girls. But I've lost weight, and still no guy. Am I giving off vibes? Like stay-away-from-me vibes?? And where in the hell do you meet guys??? This seems to be my biggest hurdle. I don't meet guys. All my friends are married and don't have single guy friends. What's up with that?? I have got to get better friends! (Just kidding!) This is the one area in my life that has not changed. And I don't know how to change it. I swear-sometime at the bookstore, I'm gonna just walk up to someone and start a conversation or something. First checking for a ring, of course. The guys my age are ususally married. Honestly.

What will the next year bring? Who knows. Life is finally getting interesting though, and that's always a good thing!

I think my biggest worry is that next year, when I turn 30, I will still be alone. My greatest wish is to find.....not just a boyfriend, but a best friend that I am in love with and can share my life with. I want to be happy, and to a point, I am, but being in love would make me even happier.

Disclaimer:I will not settle. Never ever. It's got to be the right guy, or no dice. For real.

Ok-I'm going to go knit now. I hope you enjoyed my reflective mood and my bad spelling. Life is too short to look up every word. :)

The red thing is a slap braclet-now this had me giggling for a good five minutes as I slapped it on my wrist again and again! Good times! Thanks again, secret pal!!! (I sent you an email-did you get it??)

So I'm spending my weekend relaxing and dishcloth knitting. And also there is a Scooby-Doo movie marathon on today. I'm all over that!

I have a thing tomorrow, so I just want to take it easy today, and enjoy my time. I hope everything in my life will be settled soon. I'll be a lot less stressed out when I know my future plans.

But for now-I'm gonna chill out with Scooby and some cotton yarn(which dries my hands out :( )

Happy Knitting!!

Yarn

Yup. Yarn. I bought this at Stitches on Saturday. And I keep pulling it out to look at. Yes-it's still in this closed bag. I have not actually fondled it. I just keep looking at it. This purchase marks the start of something that could get very out of hand.

A Stash.

Yup-I bought yarn that I do not have a pattern or specific idea for. That is how one starts a stash. And I did it. I feel like there should be special meetings for this type of thing. Addiction comes in all sorts of vices. And it starts slow.....I see that now.

First, it's a special deal(I got this from Webs for 20% off.), and then exscuses......'I plan on making a v-neck sweater when I get my hoodie done, and I was planning for it to be green.....'

Suddenly the yarn fumes have overwhelmed you, and you're found one day in a pile of yarn rocking back and forth chanting "so soft...on sale....I have a pattern somewhere...."

You see? You can't let this kind of thing get out of hand.

And this is not the only thing I bought-although my other purchases are not of the 'I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-going-to-knit-with-this-it's-on-sale' variety. I got sock yarn-which we all know does not count as stash yarn, and some patterns, and magnets for my car, and notions notions notions!! YAY!

I truly did spend a lot of money, but I also got gifts for my secret people, and that was my main goal. So really-other then the above mentioned yarn-I did really good.

And it was sooo fun! It was nice to see yarns that I've only heard about, and be able to fondle yarns that I keep hearing are sooo soft!

So that's it for now-I'm still recovering! Had to take a day off work becuase I just knew I would need more recovery time then just one day! And I was right.

Ok-I'm gonna go pull out that yarn again and just look at it(cause I'm crazy--shhh!).

Happy Knitting!

Happy October?

It's hard to believe it's October. Yes-this year has gone pretty fast, but that's not what I mean. I mean that it is 8 o'clock at night on October 8th, and it's 81 degrees. That is crazy. And a little unfair-I feel like I'm being cheated out of my faovrite time of year. It was 90 degrees at 3pm today! In friggin' October!!!

In other news...I finished Mom's socks, which I gave to her. Those were the ones that she bought the yarn for. I must say-people talk about second sock syndrome, but for me the second sock goes soooo much faster then the first one! After the first one, it's all downhill!

I also finished another dischcloth, which move my total still to knit to 17. But it's going to be mainly what I work on for the time being.

I have one more pair of socks to knit, and my brother's hat, and of course the dishcloths for Christmas knitting, so I feel like it's do-able. It'd feel a heck of a lot more like Christmas knitting if the weather would cooperate.

So that's the update. In life news, I'm back to waiting. I had an important thing today that I think went pretty well, but we'll see in the coming days.

Back to knitting. Watching Dancing with the Stars-then Heroes!!!YAY!!! Love that show!!

Happy Knitting!!

Did I not say it was a BIG box?? THANK YOU SECRET PAL!!! Oh my gosh, I am just overwhelmed! I love everything!! And I love getting packages!! Wooo Hooo!!!

It's been a good day! I have spent most of this week moving furnature around, and just overall cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I have this hutch-type thing that had been mostly blocked by my bed. Well, after moving things around, I am able to get to it again. So I am using it for my yarn storage, and I've put my knitting books/magazines on the shelves. Anywho. Where I put my yarn is in the bottom shelves, which have doors. It's pretty dark in there, and now I have a really good light that I can use(see above-I'm talking about the keychain-stay with me here). How perfect is that?? And the light is small enough not to be a bother, but bright enough to do the job, and do it well. YAY!!

So now all my knitting stuff is somewhat organized. (See how I've avoided useing the word 'stash'? I do not have a stash-I have 'stuff'.) And now I get a weekend to just relax, and knit, and enjoy my goodies!! I'll also be going to the Ephrata fair tomorrow for supper. Yummy fair food! (Like I need it-goals, people, goals.)

So everyone have a good weekend, and once again-thank you to my secret pal!!

Happy Knitting!
