Mom's going to make cookies, and I'm going to stay in and knit. I only have one sock to go, so it's looking good! I am happy to report that all dishcloths are done!

Yesterday I spent the entire day wrapping-and I only have one thing left, which I have to find a box for.

It's that time of year.......busy busy.

Good times!

Stay safe and Happy Knitting!

Sunday Knitting

Yeah.....I was gonna take a picture of the hat I made my brother for Christmas, but I just don't have the time. I am on my last dishcloth, and I have a sock and a half to go. Fast knitters laugh at this. 'Two weeks until Christmas-plenty of time!,' they may claim. But I am not a fast knitter. I do not have years and years of experience in the knitting world. This is my first knitted Christmas. And I will be done-I will make sure of it.

As I cast on my last dishcloth, I thought about the 35 I had already made. It is a lot. And likely-other then Mom-that the recipients will not apprieciate all my work. I wondered if that bothered me. And then I thought about how much I love to knit. And the fact that each dishcloth took very little of my time. Most of them were done through spring and fall. This was the time that I truly feel in love with knitting. And these dishcloths were very much a part of that time. The represent my education in knitting. The new stitches I learned, patterns I would otherwise not have tried (even some lace!), and some serious weaving in of the ends-which I feel I've gotten better at.

So at the end of the day-I am giving Christmas presents that may never get fully appreciated, but at the very least-they are important to me. And although it may never be realized-it's a gift from the hands AND the heart.

In other news-I am happy to report that all my Christmas shopping is done!!! (Happy dance!!) And I already have next Saturday reserved for wrapping. Cause it's gonna take a whole day. Good thing I love to do it!

While I was out yesterday, I found an inexpensive coffee for one maker, which Wen had suggested. Thanks Wen! I make a nice cup of coffee this morning, and it was lovely with this weather.

Weather in this area is...well...a little wierd at times. We had a very warm, summer-like fall. October was record high. Then it got cold. Quick. And today, it's cold with rain, but not freezing rain. I think. We are close enough east that our weather isn't horrible, but we are often on "the line". That area where it could be raining on one side of the street, and snowing on the other. I live on the snowy side. They call it "north of the turnpike". And it's true! We live MAYBE a half mile north of the turnpike, and we always get more snow and colder temps. It's, well, wierd.

So anyway-my thoguhts are with the people in the midwest who are getting an ice storm. It's looking bad out there. And of course I'm weather channeling it today as I knit.

And a very special welcome to Julianne Marie. A future knitter I'm sure. She made sure to make her appearence on a Thursday night-a sure sign that she didn't want to miss SnB! Congrats Ann!

I am going to throw on some Christmas music and go to town with the knitting. I've spent the day knitting already, and watching the Weather Channel, and daydreaming about what I'm going to knit once Christmas knitting is done!

Happy Knitting!
